Celebrating Brother

This is my little brother, Matt. Only no one thinks he’s my little brother because he’s so much taller than me.
Today he turns 26!!!

Matt is absolutely one of my favorite people I’ve ever known. I get a lump in my throat every time I think about the amazing relationship the Lord has blessed us to have as brother and sister. We’ve been friends since we were young.

We fought all the time. He has punched through my playhouse window, karate chopped my play ironing board, and picked on me more than I can count. And I’m sure much was deserved. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But even when we got so aggravated with one another, it would be just minutes later and we were laughing our heads off. He’s the brother that I built forts with and jumped on the trampoline with (with a perfected routine that we can still do today…) and had silly nicknames with each other that we can still use to make each other laugh.

And today…today he is one of the most Godly men I know. His passion for the Lord and His Kingdom brings tears to my eyes. He’s a preacher of the Word, a follower of the Truth, and a lover for the work of the Lord. He loves his wife and daughter with a fierce love that makes me so proud…he reminds me of my dad. He hugs me. And calls me “sister.” He protects me and calls me when storms are in the area.ย And he sends me random emails with random memories that make me bust out laughing while I’m at work. ๐Ÿ™‚

Brother, I love you and I’m so thankful for your friendship. You were the best thing that could have happened to my life 26 years ago. Happy birthday.
