Thunder Fever

I have it.

These playoff games have me going crazy…they have me cheering at a tv, jumping out of my seat at the games (yes, I’ve been to 2 payoff games!!), wearing Thunder gear, and talking about the fellas playing…using the correct names with their awesome plays. What is happening to me??
This. Is. Crazy.

I’m ready to watch again on Sunday…

Celebrating her…

She’s my best friend.
She’s the one I laugh with so hard we cry.
She’s my favorite person to shop with.
She’s my resource for cooking questions.
She’s the one that shares the same sense of humor…and we laugh so much.

She’s taught me how to take care of a house…how to make it a home.
She’s been an example of a Godly wife and mother…
She’s the one I seek Godly wisdom from, because she pours it out without even realizing it.
She’s the one that gives the most comforting hugs when you are hurting…and people she comforts remember her hugs.
She’s the one that comforts me in a way no one else can when I’m hurting.
She’s the one who taught me about Jesus Christ.
She was my Sunday School teacher.
She was at every band competition, every game, and every event we had growing up.
She taught me how to pray.
She taught me how to love.
She’s my prayer warrior.
She’s my hero.
She’s my mom.

Just Lovely

I was so excited when Alyssa called me about taking her senior pictures! I have known Alyssa since she was just itty bitty and I could not believe she was already a senior in high school. So of course I jumped at the chance to spend some time with her and her family! Alyssa, I loved getting to capture you and celebrate this exciting time in your life! You are just gorgeous! 🙂

Just lovely.

Blonde curls and big blue eyes…

Despite her not wanting to give me any smiles, we still got some to prove she’s a precious little doll!

Sweet moments…

I had the wonderful privilege of photographing my sweet friends’ new little bundle last Friday. Everything about the shoot just seemed to go so well. We had the shoot in my pastor’s home, which was so fun! And I’m pretty sure he took just as many photos as I did of the whole session! 🙂 Chris and Andrea, he is precious and just perfect.

One of my favorite moments of our time together… sweet moment between proud daddy and son…

And then my favorites… o precious baby…

God is so good.

A Life Refreshed

I thought it had been a while since I shared a more personal post, so here it is…

Sometimes, in order to get to a place that is green and lush, we have to journey through rough brush and thorns that seem to be attacking from every side. There are scratches, bruises, tears, wounds that will take so much time to truly heal. And often, it seems like this path is never ending, that the pain and frustrations will just not go away. Moments of desperation, struggling just to breathe.
But then, out of nowhere, there is this moment when you gain a glimpse of hope…a glimpse of something green, something alive…and you press on.

That is the turn I feel my life is taking right now. After months and months of what felt like a battle zone, the Lord is so good, so faithful to bring me to a place of sweet peace. Sweet rest. And I begin to see what He was doing all along. In those moments of deepest pain when I felt He was so distant…He was working in the smallest of details to make a way for certain doors to close so that others would open.

And then joy. Utter joy. That MY GOD, the Creator of every living thing, would take notice of ME, delight in ME…love ME. And pour himself out on me in a way that nothing else in life will ever be able to do.

My heart beats in Him.

“Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it?” Isa. 43:18-19

I had so much fun hanging out with Andrea and Justin! We got to walk around the town where my dad grew up which is always so fun for me! I can’t wait for their summertime wedding right off the lake! Here’s some of my faves from the session…
